PLUS: this AI design tool is INSANE (& free)

Welcome, humans.

LinkedIn introduced a feature for Premium users that suggests conversation starters based on someoneā€™s profile.

Brace yourselves for more cringe DMs like, ā€œHey, Noah. Iā€™m looking to expand my network and noticed youā€™re also a human being. Letā€™s connect!ā€ Thanks, but no thanks.

Hereā€™s what you need to know about AI today:

  • Our predictions on what AI inside Appleā€™s Vision Pro will look like.

  • People can now verify that images were made using DALLĀ·E 3.

  • Meta pledged to tag AI-generated content on Facebook, Instagram, & Threads.

  • Galileo AI is a text-to-UI design that just raised $4.4M.

AI could become a lot more real on Appleā€™s Vision Pro.

We need to talk about THE Apple Vision Pro.

Yes, we know the metaverse was so 2022, and our focus is AI, but gosh darn, if this isnā€™t the most mind-blowing tech weā€™ve ever seen (since ChatGPT, of course).

(If you havenā€™t seen what it can do, we recommend this review by the GOAT). ā†“

If you believe Vision Pros are the future (we do) and AI is the future (we do), then itā€™s worth thinking about what AI will look like inside Vision Pros.

For starters, the tech powering Vision Pros shares some common ground with the advanced machine-learning techniques that underpin many AI innovations.

Many AI apps you know and love are already available on Vision Pros; Youā€™ll find that theyā€™re much more immersive (or augmented) compared to using them on traditional devices.

For instance, this is what using Adobe Firefly looks like:

Adobe

And hereā€™s what it looks like using Replit on the moon, Naviā€™s real-time captioning, creating with Glowbomā€™s draw-to-code tool, and, of course, using Perplexity.

Looking ahead, we see AI becoming a central piece of virtual work applications in Vision Pro. For example, helping with:

  • Feedback on presentations.

  • Real-time meeting translations.

  • Displaying crucial info, files, or data through holographic overlays.

Apple

Our 2nd prediction? An explosion in AI companions/avatars.

People are already addicted to talking with characters on Character AIā€¦imagine what happens when these characters evolve into hyperrealistic holograms (or deepfakes) that consume their entire line of sight.

The positive spin on this is something like 3D avatars for emotional support (Cedars-Sinai is building this).

The negative spin is some sort of illusory ā€œsocialā€ experience thatā€™s 100x more addicting than TikTok, pushing us into a dystopian Ready Player One scenario, like this hilarious Simpsons clip:

AvaWatzā€™s AI-powered robotics perform difficult and high-risk tasks faster and safer for humans.Ā

Picture this: air robots detecting runway debris AND ground bots swooping in for the clean-up.Ā

The US Air Force and Army already use AvaWatzā€™s tech. Plus, since we first featured them, Avawatz:

  • Bagged two impressive patents.

  • Launched a beta program for its AI vision & perception platform ā€œGENIEā€.Ā

For a limited time, AvaWatz is opening its door to retail investors for an exclusive fundraising round.Ā

This leading text-to-design tool is now available to everyone.

Galileo was one of those buzzy AI apps that exploded onto the scene in 2023.

The idea is Midjourney for interface designsā€”describe OR show a design concept for an app/website and generate a real mockup in seconds.

Spoiler alert: it works, and itā€™s really fricken impressive.

Here's a glimpse from our initial experiment:

Itā€™s an amazing v1 for non-designers tired of navigating through endless Figma tutorials just to whip up simple mockups.

  • The fake robocalls masquerading as Joe Biden targeted as many as 25,000 voters in New Hampshire.

  • Images made using DALLĀ·E 3 will now carry metadata to clearly indicate their AI-generated origins.

  • Meta, too, will start labeling AI images on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads.

  1. Entrust is acquiring Onfido, an AI ID verification startup, for >$400M.

  2. Starship, which builds autonomous delivery robots, raised $90M.

  3. Ambience, an AI operating system for healthcare providers, raised $70M.

  4. Colyssan, a text-to-video platform for workplace learning, raised $22M.Ā
