PLUS: ChatGPT price change incoming?!

Welcome, humans.

Here’s an AI insider heads up for ya: OpenAI just sent Team customers a new survey that could change everything about enterprise ChatGPT pricing. And honestly? It's about time.

The 15-minute survey asks how teams are currently using ChatGPT and explores ā€œfuture potential pricing structuresā€ā€”including cheaper Team tiers ranging from free to $5-$6 to all the way up to $10-12 per month (compared to today's $25-30). The catch? You'd get the same features but with 25-50% less usage.

Think of it like smartphone data plans. Instead of everyone paying for unlimited everything, you could finally match your AI spending to your actual usage patterns. Light users get a budget option, heavy users stick with the full plan, and finance teams everywhere breathe a sigh of relief.

The survey even included charts showing different pricing options and asked how many existing seats companies would downgrade to the cheaper tier—suggesting OpenAI is serious about rolling this out.

If they implement this tiered approach, it could provide a level of pricing flexibility that would blow everybody else out of the water. Currently, enterprise AI is basically ā€œhere's a seat and that's that.ā€ But with usage-based tiers, you could finally stop overpaying for AI capacity your team doesn't actually need.

Keep an eye out for this if you're a Teams user (or considering it!)

Here’s what you need to know about AI today:

  • Google's Veo 3 AI model created viral realistic videos.

  • Waymo rides in California jumped from 12K to 708K monthly in three months.

  • Gallup report: 93% of execs claim AI integration, but only 33% of employees know about it.

  • Scientists created first AI-designed proteins that move and change shape.

Google’s new video model, Veo 3, just broke the internet (and maybe Hollywood)…

We haven’t talked about AI video in a minute, but to say there have been developments would be an understatement.

Google’s new AI model, Veo 3, is absolutely out of control. Before anyone had time to release something new, Google lapped itself and now has the first AND second best video model available. Oh, and the videos can talk straight outta the generator, too.

In fact, Veo 3 might be responsible for giving Google its first real ā€œviral momentā€ in the AI wars (well, SECOND viral moment, if you count the time it wouldn’t let you generate white George Washington).

A few examples:

  1. A parody video that the Alaska Airlines subreddit DEFINITELY did not like…

  2. Social Media Influencers pushing impossible challenges.

  3. People on the street being asked whether or not they are just AI prompts.

For whatever reason, those AI ā€œon the streetā€ style interview videos are going viral in particular. Matt Berman did a great breakdown on the subject, and even tried to have Veo 3 replace him as the host (not quite there, but it’s close).

Why this matters: A lot of people are saying Veo 3 creates the most life-like AI video they’ve ever seen (and uh, we kinda agree??). This could mean, among other things, more difficulty separating reality from fiction online, and on a longer time horizon, ā€œthe end of the film industry.ā€

This is where agentic AI comes into play. When you combine Veo 3 with Flow, Google’s AI filmmaking tool, you start to see how this comes together: AI that can eventually generate entire movies from prompts. Instead of searching Netflix, you’ll literally pitch it what you want to watch.

Our take: While AI enthusiasts argue we're just two iterations away from Hollywood's death since anyone can now make movies, film industry folks are laughing at people who think trad moviemaking isn’t still superior—pointing to current glitches (characters changing faces mid-scene, anyone?) and the collaborative artistry real films require.

Pending copyright lawsuits could also slow down this transition, if not ā€œkill the industry overnight.ā€ No one’s more at risk than Google, as publishers have called its AI search ā€œthe definition of theft.ā€

But Google can’t slow down either, as ChatGPT is now the 5th most visited website behind only Google, Youtube, Instagram and Facebook. Let’s just say Google needs all the ā€œviral momentsā€ it can get.
